Composition Roofing In Dallas, Fort Worth or Irving
TruSlate™ Affordable Genuine Slate Roofing
Slate is the most beautiful and durable roofing material known to man. For centuries, it’s been the roofing material of choice for the world’s greatest buildings. In fact, some slate roofs have lasted for literally hundreds of years, enduring all of the ravages that Mother Nature could throw at them.
- Real hand-split quarried slate (not a synthetic imitation)
- An ingenious installation system (that typically eliminates the expensive structural modifications that old-fashioned slate requires)
- An affordable price (often comparable to the cost of the cheap imitations)
Metal Roofing In Dallas, Fort Worth and Irving
When we install a stone coated steel roof, we make the extra effort to have an exceptionally waterproof sub-roof. Our practice is the usage of the very best synthetic felts and penetration waterproofing. If you have a roof that will outlast the home but only have a saturated felt underlayment, you are not protected against ice dam situations or those times when ice is on the roof but warm air passes under the steel. I have seen it rain inside metal warehouses on such days. The condensation can be great.
We installed our first Gerard roof in 1987, please click Gerard – Texas Installs. These include jobs by Jon Wright Roofing as well as other contractors. We’ve tried several other brands but keep going back to Gerard. Sometimes another companies profile or color might serve better in a particular situation but Gerard has one of the best selections anywhere. We have also installed Decra, Kassel and Irons, Metro, Alcoa, Almet, Classic Aluminum, and others.
We are members of theMetal Roof Alliance too.
Radiant Barrier Decking
At Jon Wright Roofing, we use only the best manufacturers when it comes to radiant barrier decking. Without radiant barrier decking:
- Heat and radiant energy are absorbed into your roof deck.
- Heat builds up in the attic.
- Heat transfers to the living area.
- Energy usage climbs.
- Ceiling paint fades
- HVAC equipment wears out and needs repair
With radiant barrier decking:
- Up to 97% of the radiant heat is blocked from radiating to the attic from the roof deck.
- Attic temperatures are reduced by as much as 30%.
- Less heat is transferred to the living space.
- Energy usage is reduced.
- Your home’s value may increase.
Some contractors use a radiant barrier under the shingles but that doesn’t work. It might even make it hotter because aluminum conducts. If aluminum is not exposed to air, it will conduct. When Coolply, (the original name for Techshield), first came out, the brochures mentioned that aluminum had three qualities: 1) does not emit, 2) reflects, 3) conducts. Today, the company not being as idealistic as it once was, leaves out this third quality. They know that roofers won’t or can’t install this type of decking correctly in the situations where wood shingles were once installed and a lathe system remains. Usually the rafters are not on two foot centers because they did not need to be. Therefore if you remove the lathe the 4′x8′ sheets won’t fit without great effort and loss of material. We have retained the original mounted system that Coolply devised but have improved upon it with a system that allows for an attic that remains near ambient temperature even on hot sunny Texas days.
Our customers rant and rave about their unique cool attics. We don’t believe there is another contractor in the area that can beat our method.
